Veneers

In dentistry, a veneer is a layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect the tooth’s surface from damage.  There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer:  composite and dental porcelain.

Crowns

A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant.  Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth.  They are typically bonded to the tooth using a dental cement.  Crowns can be made from many materials, which are usually fabricated using indirect methods.  Crowns are often used to improve the strength or appearance of teeth.  While inarguably beneficial to dental health, the procedure and materials can be relatively expensive.

Biologic Root Canal Treatments

Endodontic therapy or root canal therapy is a sequence of treatment for the infected pulp of a tooth which results in the elimination of infection and the protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion.

Apicoectomy

A root end surgery, also known as apicoectomy (apico- + -ectomy), root resection, retrograde root canal treatment (c.f. orthograde root canal treatment) or root-end filling, is an endodontic surgical procedure whereby a tooth’s root tip is removed and a root end cavity is prepared and filled with a biocompatible material.

Implantology

A dental implant (also known as an endosseous implant or fixture) is a surgical component that interfaces with the bone of the jaw or skull to support a dental prosthesis such as a crown, bridge, denture, facial prosthesis or to act as an orthodontic anchor.  The basis for modern dental implants is a biologic process called osseointegration where materials, such as titanium, form an intimate bond to bone.  The implant fixture is first placed, so that it is likely to osseointegrate, then a dental prosthetic is added.

Gingivectomy

Gingivectomy is the removal of gum tissue (gingiva) by surgery.  Gingivoplasty is a type of gum surgery used to reshape healthy gum tissue around teeth.  Periodontists typically perform both types of surgery.  These dentists specialize in treating gums and the other structures that support teeth.

Prosthodontics Rehabilitation

Prosthodontics rehabilitation entails the optimum restoration of function and appearance to your smile with clinical conditions associated with missing or defective teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues.  The planning during the diagnostic phase is of utmost importance to ensure long term success and comfort regarding the surgical placement and restoration of implants and rehabilitation of occlusion with prostheses (e.g. crowns)

Porcelain inlays and crowns (CADCAM) (Cerec)

CEREC technology makes it possible to produce and integrate ceramic restorations in a single appointment.  Unlike other materials such as amalgam or gold, ceramic is more biocompatible and boasts tooth-like physical and aesthetic qualities.  In addition, digital impressions are more comfortable for patients than traditional impressions.
